Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s natural gems. Famous for its beautiful landscapes and incredible biodiversity, this park covers an area of 335 km² along the shores of Lake Manyara, at the foot of impressive cliffs reaching 600 metres in height.
Ideally located, the park is only 1 hour from Tarangire National Park (70 km), 2.5 hours from Arusha (105 km) and is an essential stop on the route of the great safaris of northern Tanzania.
Exceptional nature celebrated since Hemingway
Stretching for nearly 50 km, Lake Manyara Park offers a unique diversity of landscapes: tropical forests, open savannahs, swamps and vast grassy plains. This spectacular natural setting, once described by Ernest Hemingway, makes Lake Manyara a favourite destination for nature lovers and photographers.
A rich and varied fauna
During a safari at Lake Manyara, you will have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of wildlife:
Elephants, giraffes and buffalo roaming the wooded areas
Blue monkeys and baboons in the dense tropical forest
