Located just 2½ hours from Arusha National Park and 1 hour 10 minutes from Lake Manyara, Tarangire National Park covers 2,700 km² and is famous for its giant baobab trees, nicknamed the ‘trees of life’. These majestic trees can reach up to 30 metres in height and 11 metres in trunk diameter, storing up to 32,000 litres of water, a precious resource for elephants and local communities during the dry season.

The park is also home to the largest elephant population in the world, attracted by the Tarangire River and Lake Barunge, which provide an essential source of water for wildlife.
